The BST Modified Series is based off of a simple fact of racing and life, Blood, Sweat & Tears. Each driver, crew member, promoter, fabricator and fan from coast to coast, border to border has experienced one, if not all the elements that make up BST.

January 12th BST, IMCA and Local Tracks got together in McCook, Nebraska to discuss everyone’s thoughts and concerns for their tracks, drivers, series, and promoters. They talked about different ideas on how to make the drivers, tracks and promoters all work together. After meeting in McCook, Both Brett Root with IMCA and Joe Bellm with BST spent a lot of time discussing and planning for 2008. They both feel it’s important that the promoters and drivers know that they don’t just have BST in mind. They are concerned with all the Tracks, Local Shows, and Drivers as well. At that time, Brett Root with IMCA decided to make Joe the official IMCA BST Tour Director. By doing so, this allows the tracks, promoters and drivers to communicate their concerns, ideas and needs through Joe. This will make for an effective open channel of communication. Allan Langdale, The Central Region Director, is also working closely with Joe & Brett Root to help to secure the future of racing.

BST is very pleased with our 2008 season schedule. Boasts 24 dates with 6 more possible.

We are especially excited about the timing and locations of our swings. In creating this schedule, while working with Brett Root, Allen Langdale and all of the tracks; which took an extreme amount of Blood, Sweat, & Tears to get accomplished.

It is our goal to recognize all of the people from the stands to the pits and all that make up BST possible with putting on the best show at each track we go to. By setting up our schedule into swings, we believe the very best drivers in each region we race in, will be wheel to wheel giving the race fans and tracks owners the best bang for their buck.  The swings also allow a driver to chase several different championships while remaining loyal to their home track, sponsors and fan base. Drivers will be able to run their local home track and still participate with the BST series as well. The BST Championship is based on your best 10 shows out of the entire BST schedule; also allowing drivers to get 20 Bonus Points for Season-end will help both local and BST drivers with their quest for a Regional and/or National title.

BST drivers will have their first opportunity for their Tour Title Points on Saturday, April 12th at the new and improved Decatur County Speedway in Oberlin, Kansas. Our first swing starts Friday, May 9th at Rolling Plains Speedway in Hays, Kansas, then to Sherman County Speedway in Goodland, Kansas and Sunday at Thomas County Speedway in Colby, Kansas. The June Swing starts on Saturday, June 14th at the Sherman County Speedway, then to Thomas County Speedway, then off to Decatur County Speedway finishing the swing at Lincoln County Raceway in North Platte, Nebraska for the Annual “Run for the Money” show.

BST is pleased to see that all Tracks participating in the “Mid-Summer Swing” which is something we have been trying to accomplish by working with local tracks and promoters by taking the weekend off, should allow for the most competitive, action packed swing Kansas has ever seen.  We will be calling this swing “Blood, Sweat & Tears Kansas Speed Weeks.”

Tracks participating in the off weekend go as far west as I-76, to east as Minneapolis, north as North Platte, and south as Dodge City along with all the tracks in between.  Allowing the best of the best to come represent their local tracks.  The “Blood, Sweat & Tears Kansas Speed Weeks” starts Friday, August 1st and 2nd at the Thomas County Speedway in Colby, Kansas. The 3rd  day at Wakeeney Speedway in Wakeeney, Kansas and concluded at Decatur County Speedway in Oberlin, Kansas.

BST will wrap up its season in September at the 2nd Annual Fall Nationals at Rolling Plains Speedway in Hays, Kansas. Followed by the BST Party in the Pits, with a Concert & Wet T-shirt Contest.  With IMCA’s decision to extend National Points for one weekend, this will allow BST to have their season Championship be the 19th Annual Flatlander Show in Goodland, Kansas; which is something everybody involved with BST has wanted for a long time.

The spectators can look forward to an all new two-seater for rides, and for the pace car.  Along with a special added bonus for some races we will have a 50 lap race with a stop at 30 laps, for a front shoot pit stop for refueling, getting the fans and pit crews more involved, finishing with a 20 lap race.  All starts will be double-file restarts. All BST races will have a driver autograph session and lucky draws of ten fans; which will get to go in the pits and work as a pit crew for the night. As always, the BST four-wide American flag salute presentation. BST is also pleased to announce our all new website along with our Myspace page for our younger generation. BST wants to always keep our fans and drivers updated on upcoming events and news the best way possible. BST will be working with 3 major websites. Big West, Mid West and Dirt Drivers.

Our registered BST drivers can also look forward to the larger purses we have to offer. The BST purse is based on a $3500 purse; plus or minus total car count. BST winners are guaranteed $700-1000 and $100 to start, not only do we take care of our winner, but we pay out to non-qualifiers as well. We offer many marketing tools our drivers can take advantage of like the two-seated modified.
